this weekend

This weekend was very uneventful for me. My mom went with a friend (who owns the cutest shop here in town that I can't wait to register at!) to the Dallas home and gifts market. I was supposed to go with them but I couldn't get off work. She sent me lots of pictures along the way and got some cool stuff for the wedding. Here are a few things they ordered.

Mostly things for centerpieces.

Kelsey went to Ignite in Amarillo with the youth group this weekend so I was home all by myself Friday night. I did not like that very much. I worked all day Saturday and did nothing that night but I was happy the house was full again. Sunday I went to church and then after made this little guy. It needs some more work before I get it listed but hope to do that later this week. Let me know what you think!

I bought this game for the wii to help with my lack of determination for working out. I have done it 3 times so far and like it ok. I have been a little sore these last couple of days so I guess that means it's working! Trying to mix this in with running.

my one little word

One little word is something that Ali Edwards came up with a few years ago. I have been reading her blog for less than a year so when it came around this year it was something new to me. I initially thought that this wasn't for me. So I didn't think about it. Then I read this list and a few words just started jumping out at me. That's when I decided that maybe my life did need one little word this year. To stay on focus. Here is what Ali said about one little word:

"You live with it. You invite it into you life. You let it speak to you. You might even follow where it leads. There are so many possibilities."

These are the words that stuck out to me when I went through the list of words:

I decided that my word for 2011 will be invest.

I want to invest time and effort in my health :: this means working out, being more active and trying to eat healthier

I want to invest time and effort in my business :: list, list, list

I want to invest money into my savings account :: this is one of my 23 at 23 goals too

I want to invest in my relationships :: friends and family

I want to invest time into my spiritual growth :: read and study the bible more and pray more

I want to invest in a good camera :: can't wait to make this investment!

I want to invest in documenting life :: I need to remember that this takes a little bit of time and effort but will be so worth it! (more on how I plan to do this in a couple of weeks)

weekend recap

So my weekend didn't start until 5pm on Saturday. Gotta love working on Saturdays. Anyways Saturday night I pretty much just watched tv and went to bed early. I need to be more useful with the small amount of time that I have to get things done.

Sunday was exciting because Matt was on his way back to school and stopped by for 5 hours! And we finished our save the dates! Of course when he is here I have to put him to work! :) All I need to do is address them now. Pictures will be coming as soon as I send them out.

I have always loved to read. When my mom got a kindle last year I decided that I must have one too. So I asked for one for Christmas. I am loving it! It makes reading so much more convenient for me and I like how when I finish a book I can start another one right away! Here are some of the books I currently have on it and am in the process of reading. (I scored a ton of amazon gift cards for chritmas too! Gift cards make me really happy!)

I am a little embarrassed to say I am reading this book but I really like to read about real people's lives. I was watching ellen one day and portia de rossi was on there talking about this book. This is the book I have read the most of.

I haven't started this one yet but it is sitting on my kindle waiting for me. I am really excited to start it.

 

christmas and new years

I had a wonderful Christmas and New Years and I hope you did too!

I spent Christmas day at home with my mom and younger sister, Kelsey. I got a kindle and Kelsey got a Wii! We had waffles for breakfast and had a pretty relaxing day. Played the Wii and read some and took a couple of naps! It was very nice. And my mom made fudge which is my favorite!

I take lots of pictures of food for some reason. :)

After church on Sunday we drove to Round Rock to have Christmas with my older sister and brother-in-law, Jessi and David. Of course we brought the wii along. While in Round Rock we did a little shopping and went wedding dress shopping! It was a lot of fun! I am so happy I found a dress. I can't wait to show it off, too bad I have to wait for like 5 months. We go back in February to pick it up.

My best friend from high school got married on new years day and I was honored to be apart of her wedding.

I was not a very good picture taker that day and this is pretty much the only picture I have of Becky. She looked beautiful! I am so so happy for them!

i'm back!

Can you believe that I haven't blogged in over a month? At first I felt bad for neglecting my blog and when I tweeted that I felt bad for not blogging, Olivia replied to me and said to not feel bad and blog for me. So I took a break. I needed that break to become re inspired to blog.

School got busy and then I turned around and graduation was here and now Christmas has gone by. Time has been flying by! One of the main reasons I started this blog was to document things that happen in my life. I have not been doing that lately and a lot has happened in this past month.

I got a job for January!

I went to my last day of school ever!!

I worked my last day as a student assistant.

We registered for wedding gifts!

I graduated college!

I moved back home with my mom and younger sister.

Celebrated my last Christmas without Matthew by my side.

Designed our save the dates to be sent out.

For the new year I have a lot of goals. Personal and business ones. One of my goals is to really grow this blog. I am planning on consistent posting. I really hope you will stick around with me because I have some weekly features that I am excited about.

Excited to see what this new year will bring!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas! I am having a very relaxing day with my mom and younger sister. Headed to my older sister's house tomorrow to spend a couple of days with them!

23 at 23

I turned 23 about 4 months ago. I have wanted to create a list like this. I love to make to-do lists. I finally have came up with my list! I only have 8 months to get it done but better to do it now then next year. I am really motivated to do this and hope it sticks. I really want to document the whole process too. Hopefully I will be sharing my accomplishments here. Some will be hard to document but I think that will make it more fun!

oh and p.s. my sister is not pregnant yet...but I have a feeling it might be happening soonish so I want to get a head start on the afghan! :)
