new york so far

1. We got to the airport in Austin on Thursday about 2 hours before our flight was supposed to leave so we ate lunch there and I got some yummy mexican vanilla ice cream from Amy's. I liked how the Austin airport had local food in it like Amy's Ice Cream, Saltlick, and Maudies mexican food.

2 & 3. On Friday we walked across the longest pedestrian bridge in the world. It went all the way across the Hudson. It took us like an hour to walk across it and back. It is in Poughkeepsie, NY. It was pretty cool. After that we went to eat lunch and then headed to Beacon(where Matthew's grandma lives and where his dad grew up). While there we sat out on his grandmas porch and I met his aunt and uncle and cousins. We ordered some local pizza. I was happy.

4. Saturday morning we drove to Beacon  and went to Madame Brette park. It had some small hiking trails that we did. After that we went to another park in another city for his cousins rehearsal picnic. I got to meet the more of his cousins and more aunts and uncles. They fed us lunch and had games to play. It was fun. After that we headed back to Beacon to spend more time with his grandma and family. For supper me and Matt walked down to main street and ate at a local diner. It was pretty good.

5. Sunday morning we drove to Beacon again and picked up two of his uncles and we climbed Mt. Beacon. It was a pretty hard hike but we made it all the way to the top and took in the view. We packed sandwiches to eat at the top for lunch. The going down was about 100 times easier than going up. After that we headed back to Poughkeepsie and spent the night eating and talking with the aunt and uncle (Matt's mom's brother) we are staying with.

Today is the wedding and tomorrow we are going to the city! Happy memorial day!

these last couple of days

1. I got this bag for Becky as a congrats on the engagement. It is from Wedding Chicks. I got one for Kaylee when she got engaged and she seemed to like it and use it a lot so I wanted to get one for Becky too! I really like the way it turned out.

2. Me and Matt left for Bastrop on Sunday.

3. Here is us in the completely full car on the way. He was moving stuff home from Lubbock. We barely had room for my suitcase in there!

4. I love the wildflowers down towards Austin. They make me happy!

5. Here is where Matthew is going to be working for the summer. It's in Houston...Houston is about 8 hours from Big Spring. That's is a long way. We will figure something out. The place is called Garden Dreams. It seems like a good opportunity so I am excited for him!

6. I have done a little bit of shopping this week. I really needed some shorts for the summer. I got all three of these from Target, along with the brown sandals. The silver sandals are from Rack Room Shoes, and the two shirts are from Gap. I am really excited to wear my new clothes! (I am done shopping for a while)

That is what I have been up to these past couple of days! Tomorrow we don't have anything planned and Thursday we leave for New York! Yay!

34 hours down

I have finished my first week of my internship! That means I have 266 hours left, which equal 38 more days. That's not too bad. I have enjoyed coming in everyday and making myself useful (let's hope this enjoyment lasts). Today I am leaving to go to Lubbock right after work for Haley's bachelorette/lingerie party, then I am off for two weeks! During those two weeks I will be in Austin, Houston, New York, and finally Lawn for Kaylee and Cameron's wedding!! So excited! Then it's back to working 9-5 everyday. I hope to update while I am traveling with pictures. Hope you have a good weekend!

my summer book

I changed my idea of the New York book to just a summer book. I wanted a book to document my summer so I decided to make one big book for the summer. I have four sections for May, June, July, and August. I have added some things to the May section and I already enjoy adding things to it and can't wait to see it grow! I will have to post some pictures of the insides later. The label on the front cover is from Paper Source. My new favorite store for all things paper!

five years

Where will I be 5 years from now? What will I have accomplished in 5 years? I can not answer these questions now but look at this cool diary that you can use to document the next 5 years of your life.(source) It has a page for everyday of the year with 5 sections on each page for the next 5 years. I like the small journaling space. It would make documenting things much easier to do. I am not going to buy this now but I was thinking about making something that will do the same thing. I will let you know how it goes.

books

I love reading. Sometimes I read multiple books at the same time. It depends on what kind of mood I am in when I pick which one to read. Currently I am reading these four books. I am really looking forward to finish reading these and learning new things.

thursday

my mind has been consumed with scrapbooking lately (i seem to be avoiding studying for my tax final that is on saturday).
i want to create.
i bought some bookbinding tape from papersource.com today so i can create my new york travel mini scrapbook.
i also bought this off amazon:doesn't it look intense? it punches holes and can put eyelets in.

things to do:

  • study, study, study
  • take my online counseling final
  • stop buying things off the internet (it's a weakness)
  • 30-day shred
  • pack (i move out in one week and i only have a couple of boxes packed)
  • find a storage unit (doing this tomorrow)

so glad tomorrow is friday!
